From March 25 to March 27, 2020, a remote republican Olympiad in the specialty of chemistry was held, organized by the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The mission of the Olympiad: the formation of creative thinking among young people and the stimulation of research activities of students in the field of chemistry.
The Olympiad was held in 2 rounds:
the first round is problem solving;
the second round - computer online testing.
The test task included 100 questions, each of which assumed from 1 to 3 correct answers. Participants were sent tasks by e-mail in real mode, and 2 hours were given for a response. In total, 4 tasks in inorganic chemistry were presented; organic chemistry; physical chemistry and analytical chemistry.
8 student teams from 6 universities took part in the Olympiad.
Students showed their professional and personal potential, showed creativity, creativity, originality, showed the ability to analyze, think logically.
According to the results of the Olympiad, the team of ENU named after L.N. Gumilyov "Graduates 2020" (4th year students Isabekova Saira, Bostanov Dulat and Kuandykova Azhar) took 2nd place in the team standings. Also in the individual competition Isabekova Saira took 2nd place and Bostanov Dulat took 3rd place.
