On April 27, 28, 2023, the Department of "Management and Engineering in the Field of Environmental Protection" of L.N. Gumilev ENU held an International student subject online Olympiad of the section "Ecology and Environmental Protection".
Goals of the Olympiad:
• Improving the quality of training of specialists and the formation of students' ecological worldview;
• Development of students' creative abilities, identification and support of talented youth for research and production activities;
• Strengthening contacts between students and university teachers.
Thematic areas of the Olympiad:
1. Environmental protection and rational use of natural resources
2. Problems of water resources
3. Waste management
4. Environmental monitoring
5. Innovations in ecology and nature management
The online Olympiad was attended by teams of students of higher educational institutions in the specialty "Ecology" of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
The online Olympiad was held in two stages: 1) the first stage on April 27 – testing of students (30 test questions and tasks); 2) the second stage on April 28 – protection of projects. The teams presented their projects. The projects were defended in the Microsoft Teams platform.
