Development of methods for assessing and predicting the dynamics of landscapes under anthropogenic impacts using remote sensing/GIS technologies

On May 17, a scientific seminar was held at the Department of Physical and Economic Geography on the topic "Development of methods for assessing and predicting the dynamics of landscapes under anthropogenic impacts using remote sensing/GIS technologies", at which Associate Professor Ozgeldinova Zh.O. as the head of the scientific project presented the results of the work of the research group on the development of methods for assessing the dynamics of landscapes under anthropogenic conditions impacts.

The main idea of the project is to develop new methods for assessing and predicting the dynamics of the natural environment under anthropogenic impacts on a geoinformation basis using a contour grid of the landscape basis to optimize the structure of nature management.

The research materials are relevant for use by administrative authorities of administrative regions and districts that develop plans for environmental management, as well as for committees on ecology and environmental protection, as well as for the design and creation of new economic enterprises. The developed methods for assessing and predicting the dynamics of landscapes in conditions of anthropogenic impact using remote sensing/GIS technologies have a universal character: they can be used to study other regions of Kazakhstan.

The seminar was attended by teaching staff, students, undergraduates, doctoral students of the department. At the end of the meeting, young scientists actively participated in the discussion of the topic, asked questions and exchanged views.
