At the Department of Physical and Economic Geography, Faculty of Natural Sciences, classes are held by visiting professor Jan Wendt

At the Department of Physical and Economic Geography, Faculty of Natural Sciences, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University from September 2 to September 29 invited an experienced specialist in the field of tourism geography and geopolitics, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, professor of Gdańsk State University - Jan Wendt.

Lectures and practical classes are held for first-year students of the master's degree in the educational program M08452-05-19-Geography, and for fourth-year students of the educational program 5B060900-Geography.

Professor Jan Wendt's main research areas are tourism geography, economic geography, social geography, geopolitics, and geotourism methods.

Lectures for students and undergraduates are delivered in English in the disciplines: “Tourism Geography” for undergraduate studies, and “Scientific and Theoretical Foundations of Economic, Social and Political Geography” for undergraduates.

During the visit, meetings were held with the leadership of the faculty and the teaching staff of the department.

During the stay of Professor Jan Wendt at ENU named after L.N. Gumilev at the department planned a number of events:

September 24-25, a meeting with first-year doctoral students of the EP "D0845211-19" to familiarize themselves with the PhD topic of doctoral studies in Poland, as well as possible cooperation and co-leadership in writing a dissertation.

On September 26, 2019, at 14.00, a seminar is planned in 333 classrooms - a round table on the topic: “The structure of higher education in Poland in comparison with Kazakhstan”.

September 27, 2019, at 15.00 in a 333 classroom, an open lecture by Professor Jan Wendt for teaching staff and students who wish to do it on the topic: “Problems of the socio-economic development of Poland during the transformation (1990-2019)”
