To ensure the educational process of educational programs, the university has all the necessary educational and material assets. Buildings and structures of the ENU named after L. N. Gumilyov comply with current sanitary standards and fire safety requirements. Classroom and laboratory facilities, classrooms, dormitories and other facilities, sports facilities comply with the established rules and regulations.
Systematic work is constantly being carried out to update and improve the material and technical base of educational programs.
Material and technical base for the bachelor's degree.
Students of the EP «6B05209-Geography», «6B01524- Training of teachers of geography» and «6B05210-Hydrology» are trained in the 4-storey academic building № 3, Kazhymukan street, 13, total area of 19728 sq. m, study room (sq.m.) – 5528.3: audience – 3079.2, lecture - 985.6, laboratories – 1463.5.
The study area for 1 student for EP, taking into account the two-shift classes and meets the standards. In the process of learning is involved 6 classrooms mainly on 25 seats, 3 laboratory of physical and economic geography - 202,9 sq. m., 3 reading halls of the university with 300 seats, a gym with a total area of 800 sqm, pool - 856 sqm and other premises - 2915.14 sq. m.
At the department of physical and economic geography there are classrooms for conducting classes of geographical and hydrological cycle: № 324a (28 seats), № 325 (28 seats), № 230 (24 seats), № 326-computer room (23 seats, there is an interactive Board), № 327 (36 seats), № 328 (36 seats, there is an interactive board), № 329 (36 seats, there is an interactive board), the geological museum with an additional audience for 20 seats, № 331 computer room and №335, № 332-teachers ' offices
The training process uses the classrooms of the department to conduct mandatory and elective courses: № 324-Center for Geosystem Modeling and Mapping of Spatial Data, № 324a-Geoecology, № 325- Physical Geography and Landscape Studies, № 326 -Laboratory room "Hydrometry and hydrology", № 327-Economic geography, № 328-Geoinformatics, № 329- Geology, № 331- Virtual laboratory "Open Flow Hydraulics" and "GIS and Hydrological modeling", № 230- Topography and cartography.
Office № 326 is equipped with 18 computers (Pentium ® 4CPU) with Microsoft Office software, ArcGis 10.5 – 11 licenses (08.12.2017), MapInfo – 10 licenses (08.07.2015), ENVI (free software) and an interactive whiteboard (Optoma x316). All computers are connected to a network, which facilitates the transfer of text and graphic information (lectures, drawings) through the network.
Office № 331 is equipped with 16 computers (Lenovo Monoblock) with Microsoft Office software, ArcGis 10.5, Q-GIS (free SOFTWARE), a hinged screen with an Epson eb-w04 projector. In the geological Museum (5th floor of CSIS) there are showcases with minerals in the amount of more than 50, which are used in practical and laboratory classes in the disciplines "Geology" and"General earth science". There is a herbarium containing 105 species of plants of Kazakhstan, used for practical classes in the disciplines "Biogeography" and "plant Geography". Three-volume Atlas of Kazakhstan – 3 sets, wall maps for all disciplines of the geographical cycle.
The assessment of sufficiency and availability of resources and infrastructure of educational programs is systematically discussed and analyzed at the meeting of the department, the faculty level and the department of logistics of the university.

The criteria for monitoring compliance with the EP are sufficiency, consistency, availability of material and technical, information, and human resources. At the end of the academic year, the laboratory assistant (material responsible person together with the head of the department) collects information on the state of the material and technical base and available information resources. At the meeting of the department, the received information is discussed, and corrective actions are taken that lead to improvement of the department's activities. Every year applications are made to the public procurement department for updating educational equipment; to the scientific library for updating the fund of educational and scientific literature, as well as for replenishment and updating of information resources. According to the state of the material and technical base and available resources, an act of readiness of the department for the next academic year is drawn up.
The steady growth of financial revenues contributes to the improvement of the material and technical base. The annual increase in the amount of funds allows us to improve the material and technical base, update educational and laboratory equipment, replenish the book fund, and develop the infrastructure of the department.
