On November 2, 2019 at the Department of General Biology and Genomics of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Eurasian National University, a seminar "The Future Profession - the Basis for the Formation of a New Generation" was held.
The seminar was attended by biology teachers of the International School of the city of Nur-Sultan Ayanasova L.A. Kozhanova A.N., 4th year students of the specialty 5B060700-Biology, teachers of the department.
At the seminar, graduates were asked to choose future professions based on specific guidelines and examples, offering advice on future graduates' professions. The main criteria for choosing a profession were the adoption of positive decisions in the profession, a feeling of joy from work, recognition of the qualities of a person.
During the seminar the following issues were considered:
1. The role of the teacher in school and society;
2. Portfolio of a biology teacher;
3. Advantages and disadvantages of the teaching profession.
The choice of profession is one of the most important decisions made by students. The head of state noted that youth should be a qualified, professional person. The profession you choose should belong to you, your community, and the work that you can and should do. Do not like professions a lot of life difficulties. Everyone should choose a profession based on their abilities. The problem of choosing a profession is a very serious problem, especially when our society lives in a market economy. This is the purpose of the seminar. Helping students choose the right profession and helping them make the right choice for their future.
During the seminar, students noted the difficulties of the teacher and shared their fears. Difficulties with a qualified specialist are small. If you are a true master of your craft, you must be a modern teacher. To this end, the students were presented with the “Atlas of a new specialty” on the website http://atlas100.ru/, and also explained the need for the 21st century, which currently requires the fullness of the entire profession and the specifics of working as an STEM expert. In other words, to be a teacher, you must have experience and the ability to think critically, use the latest technology, create creativity and interpret, have organizational skills.
The work of teachers in modern comprehensive schools is exciting and successful, because they provide classroom curricula and assessment systems based on criteria, which requires continuing education, and teachers receive a good salary based on the new certification model.
