Scientific seminar of the dissertation council of Eurasian National University named after L.N.Gumilyov on specialty 6D060900 – «Geography», 6D090200 – «Tourism»

October 30, 2018 in room № 333 building № 3 at 14.00 held a scientific seminar of the dissertation сouncil of Eurasian National University named after L.N.Gumilyov on specialty 6D060900 – «Geography».

The seminar discussed the thesis: "GIS modelling of fluvial and erosion processes in mountain rivers (example of the river Buqtyrma)" a doctoral student in the department of physical and economic geography Taukenov T.R. 

Responsible scientific consultant - doctor of geographical sciences, professor, Janalieva Gulzhan Muhitova. Foreign scientific consultant- doctor Phd, professor of geography, Ruel Hanks (Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA).

Taukenov T.R. made a presentation on the topic of his dissertation and was able to answer all the questions asked by the members of the dissertation council. At the scientific seminar, participants were asked several questions on the materials used, methods and key research sites, as well as on the applicability of the results in practice.

Questions were asked on the topic of the thesis: 

Akiyanova Farida - the Director of the Institute of Geography;

Baidalinova Saken– head of the Department of climatology, Institute of Geography;

Aday Sakenuly – Dr. PhD, visiting Professor of the Department of Tourism of the economic faculty;

Kuat Saparov – head of the Department of physical and economic geography, faculty of natural Sciences;

Janalieva Gulzhan  – Professor of physical and economic geography, faculty of natural Sciences;

Marin Rusev - Professor at St. Clement of Ohrid Sofia University.

According to the results of the scientific seminar, the decision was made: the thesis submitted for the defense can be considered as a completed independent scientific research, which comprehensively and comprehensively covers a number of topical issues and problems that are of important theoretical and practical importance at the present time.

The dissertation work fully meets the requirements of the" Rules of awarding academic degrees "imposed by the Committee on control in the field of education and science of the MES to dissertations for the degree of doctor of philosophy (PhD) in the specialty "6D060900 – Geography".

The dissertation Taukenov T.R. the results of the vote were recommended for public protection.
